To further enhance the capabilities of
the workforce, during the year, KPJ
utilised 89% of the Group’s total Human
Resource Development Fund and spent
a total of RM8.29 million on a range of
employee training and development
programmes.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
As we move forward, the Board is
excited by the prospects for continued
growth. I offer a note of personal
gratitude to my colleagues on the Board
of Directors for their wise counsel that
has helped keep the Group on track in
its endeavours.
The Board would like to take this
opportunity to pay tribute to YBhg Tan
Sri Dato’ Dr Yahya Awang, who
relinquished his role as a Director of the
Group on 27 August 2015, for his
outstanding service and numerous
contributions throughout his tenure.
We also welcome YBhg Prof Dato’ Dr.
Azizi Omar, who joins the Board as a
Director, with effect from 1 February
2016. A widely experienced Medical
Director from one of KPJ’s hospitals,
Dato’ Azizi is well versed with the
Group’s strategic direction, and it will
serve him well as a Board Member.
I would like to take this opportunity to
express my utmost appreciation to KPJ’s
Management team for their commitment
and dedication in growing and building
the Group into the leading healthcare
provider in Malaysia. I would also like to
thank all our employees for their tireless
efforts and for persevering over the past
year.
To our valued shareholders, I would like
to take this opportunity to thank you for
your continued support and trust in us.

going forward. Most importantly, it will

DEVELOPING OUR TEAM
With our goal of becoming Malaysia’s
healthcare provider of choice, we
recognise that our employees represent
the lifeblood of our operations. To this
end, we are committed to nurturing the
more than 12,000 employees who
contribute their skills and expertise to
provide our patients with the best in
healthcare.
In safeguarding the interests of
employees even after retirement, during
the year KPJ increased our employer
EPF contribution to up to 15% for those
who have served us for at least four
years.
Reflecting our efforts to develop our
talent pool, during the year the Group
was named the Grand Winner under the
Employer of Choice category at the
Malaysia HR Awards 2015. The award is
one of the highest recognitions for
compan i es i n Ma l a y s i a , and i s
internationally renowned.
The Group earned the ATE Appreciation
Award during the Institute of Chartered
Accountants in England & Wales’s
(“ICAEW”) Malaysia City Group Dinner
2015, in recognition of our role in
developing our financial talent through
the ACA programme. Furthermore, in a
nod to our efforts in offering flexible
KPJ utilised 89% of the Group’s
