ENGAGING PATIENTS IN
IMPROVING QUALITY AND
SAFETY
The central focus of KPJ Hospitals is to
continuously and sustainably improve
total patient experience.
With that singular emphasis in mind, the
hospitals develop partnerships with their
patients and their families, guiding and
helping them to be active participants in
the care delivery process. We believe
that this partnership is the true heart of
healthcare.
KPJ hospitals are constantly aligning and
reviewing clinical processes to improve
outcomes, boost performance standards
and minimise risk. The Medical Advisory
Committee (MAC) is at the forefront of
implementing the Patient Safety
initiatives and that the hospitals are
using up to date, evidence-based
guidelines to deliver timely, professional
and safe care.
In accordance with the emphasis on
patient safety, one more KPJ Hospital
was accredited by the Malaysian Society
for Quality in Health (MSQH), namely
Damai Specialist Hospital in Sabah. This
brings the number of MSQH-accredited
hospitals to sixteen (16), with many of
them have subsequent re-certifications
over numerous cycles.
Four (4) of KPJ’s hospitals have been
accredited by the Joint Commission
International (JCI), with two re-
certifications in 2015, namely for KPJ
Seremban and KPJ Ampang Puteri
Specialist Hospitals.
During the year under review, all KPJ
hospitals participated in the 2015
Critical Service Clinical Excellence
Survey and each was able to indicate
improvements in the overall ratings.
PROVIDING CUTTING-EDGE

as the capability to transport patients to
the MRI suite without moving them and
allowing them to remain on one table
throughout the imaging process; as well
as the upgrading of the hospital’s CT
scanning technology which increases
efficiency, accuracy and patient comfort.
The Group introduced the latest
technology in cardiac care at KPJ
Rawang which reduces scan times,
provides better diagnostics and lowers
