2015
A groundbreaking new surgical procedure for hip
replacement, the Anterior Minimal Incision Surgery
(AMIS), was carried out at KPJ Tawakkal Specialist
Hospital (KPJ Tawakkal) by KPJ Resident Orthopaedic
Consultant, Datuk Dr. G. Ruslan Nazaruddin
Simanjuntak on 24 February 2015.
KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital (KPJ Ipoh) was
awarded the prestigious Anugerah Kecemerlangan
Industri (AKI) 2014 for its excellence in the
Services Sector. The award was presented by the
YAB Prime Minister on 2 April 2015.

The Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina
Wazed officiated the commencement of Nursing
Programme at the Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib
Memorial KPJ Specialized Hospital & Nursing College
on 8 April 2015.
On 20 April 2015, KPJ actively participated in the
“Program Kerjaya Saya” under the 1Malaysia Training
Scheme (SL1M) for Nursing Graduates launched by
YB Datuk Seri Dr. S. Subramaniam, Minister of Health,
where 16 nurses were employed as part of KPJ family.

The Groundbreaking Ceremony of the new KPJ Kuching
Specialist Hospital (KPJ Kuching) was officiated by His
Excellency The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Haji
Abdul Taib Mahmud on 31 July 2015. The 200-bed hospital is
planned to offer oncology and cardiac services, among others.
17 May 2015 marked the completion of training of the
1st batch of nursing professionals, borne from a strategic
collaboration between KPJ and the Northern Corridor
Implementation Authority (NCIA).
