1 GENERAL INFORMATION
The Company is a public limited liability company, incorporated and domiciled in Malaysia, and is listed on the Main Market
of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia”).
The address of registered office of the Company is Level 11, Menara KOMTAR, Johor Bahru City Centre, 80000 Johor Bahru,
Johor.
The address of principal place of business of the Company is Level 12, Menara 238, Jalan Tun Razak, 50400 Kuala Lumpur.
The Directors regard Johor Corporation, a body corporate established under the Johor Corporation Enactment (No. 4 of 1968)
(as amended by Enactment No. 5 of 1995), as the ultimate holding corporation.
The principal activities of the Company are investment holding and provision of management services to subsidiaries. The
principal activities of the subsidiaries are mainly the operation of specialist hospitals. The details of the principal activities
of the subsidiaries are disclosed in Note 20 of the financial statements. There have been no significant changes in the nature
of these activities during the financial year.
The financial statements were authorised for issue by the Board of Directors in accordance with a resolution on 17 March
2016.
2 SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES
2.1 Basis of preparation
The financial statements of the Group and of the Company have been prepared in accordance with the provision of the
Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards ("MFRS"), International Financial Reporting Standards and the requirements of
the Companies Act, 1965 in Malaysia.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention except as disclosed in the summary
of accounting policies below.
The preparation of financial statements in conformity with MFRS requires the use of certain critical accounting
estimates and assumptions that affect the reported amounts of assets and liabilities and disclosure of contingent assets
and liabilities at the date of the financial statements, and the reported amounts of revenues and expenses during the
reported period. It also requires Directors to exercise their judgement in the process of applying the Group and the
Company’s accounting policies. Although these estimates and judgement are based on the Directors’ best knowledge
of current events and actions, actual results may differ. The areas involving a higher degree of judgement or complexity,
or areas where assumptions and estimates are significant to the financial statements are disclosed in Note 6.
The financial statements are presented in Ringgit Malaysia (RM) and all values are rounded to the nearest thousand
(RM'000) except when otherwise indicated.
