Reference is made to the previous announcement dated 12 January 2022 in relation to Point Zone (M) Sdn Bhd (“PZSB”) (a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company)’s lodgement to the Securities Commission Malaysia for the establishment of the Sukuk Wakalah Programme.

The Board of Directors of KPJ is pleased to announce that it has today, via PZSB, issued RM650.0 million in nominal value Sukuk Wakalah pursuant to the Sukuk Wakalah Programme.

The Sukuk Wakalah Programme has been assigned a final rating of AA-IS(CG) (stable) by Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad. Proceeds from the issuance shall be utilised by KPJ’s to fund amongst others Shariah-compliant financing activities comprising the expansion, working capital requirements and general corporate purposes of the KPJ group’s healthcare and healthcare related businesses.

Maybank Investment Bank Berhad (“Maybank IB”) and OCBC Al-Amin Bank Berhad (“OCBC Al-Amin”) are the Joint Principal Advisers, Joint Lead Arrangers and the Joint Sustainability Advisers for the Sukuk Wakalah Programme whereas the Joint Lead Managers are Affin Hwang Investment Bank Berhad, HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad, Maybank IB and OCBC Al-Amin.
